In my current post-doc position, I’ll be working closely on the development of MoveApps, a code-free platform for movement data analysis. This role is perfectly aligned with my broad research interest in developing methodological innovations and statistical tools for ecological studies.
My educational background is in statistics but my craving for the outdoors and wild brought me to the Wildlife Institute of India. My first exposure to systematic field surveys was in the Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve. Experiences from these field days intrigued my interest more in quantitative ecology. In my doctoral study, I looked into the optimization of sampling efforts to survey terrestrial mammal communities and population estimation of unmarked terrestrial mammals focusing on different methodologies using data collected with trail cameras. I want to pursue my future research in the interface of statistics and ecology to answer real-life questions.
